VICTOR GARCIA-BEBEK
Head Women's Coach Newman University
A native of Lima, Peru, has more than 25 years of combined playing and coaching experience. He played Lower, Middle and High School, Club soccer as well as semi professional soccer in Peru, South America. He also represented his High School internationally playing in Great Britain. In 2001 he moved to the U.S. to play college soccer for the Newman University Jets, one of the top soccer programs in the nation. He helped the team to a MCAC Conference Championship and a Region IV Runner-up finish. Following several years of serving as an assitant coach to the Newman men's program he cofounded Currently he is entering he coached high school and then served as the head women's coach at Friends University. With the departure of Derek Nichols he has returned to Newman as the women's head coach for the 2012 season.
Victor Garcia-Bebek has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master in Business Administration with concentration in Leadership - both from Newman University. He currently holds a USSF coaching license. He has excellent written, oral and presentation skills in both English and Spanish.
KEVIN MANGAYI
Director of Coaching Roar Soccer Club
Born and raised in Zimbabwe, Kevin has been involved in soccer since the age of 5 at which he started playing soccer for the youth program of the Zimbabwe Saints a semi pro team in his home town of Bulawayo. He has played at various levels for the past 27 years including 3 years at Newman University where he was named MCAC Scholar Athlete for three years running, was part of several conference and regional championship teams including a final eight spot at the NAIA National Championships. Kevin has been involved, in Wichita; with youth soccer for many years including extensive work with summer camps and our academy. He has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, and a Master of Business Administration with concentration in International Business.
ANTONIO LEDESMA
Roar Coaching Staff Member
Born in the city of Athens, Texas, began his interest in soccer at the age of 10. He played throughout his childhood and into his high school career. From there, the game of soccer brought him to Newman University where he played from 2000-2003. Some of the accomplishments during his time at Newman University include participating in the final eight at the 2000-2001 NAIA National Tournament, a Region championship, and two conference championships. Following his collegiate career, Antonio was given the chance to train and participate in a couple of professional matches with Los Peces Blancos de Patzcuaro, a professional team in Mexico. He later returned to the United States and began coaching for his hometown high school for the women’s and men’s program and worked camps such as Tatu’s All Star camp housed in Athens, Texas. Antonio will be entering his third year with NSA FC and has a Bachelor’s of Science in Counseling from Newman University and is currently working on his Master’s of Art in Conflict Management and Dispute Resolution through Baker University.
